Crown Prince Rudolf's Gateway" splash dam
The route starts from the right bank of the river Cheremosh, which flows in this place at an altitude of 960 m above sea level. The route goes near the splash dam “Crown Prince Rudolf’s Gateway” – it was built in 1879, in a natural bottleneck on the river Perkalab after its right tributary – the Preluchnyi stream in the upper reaches of the White Cheremosh. Approach the mineral spring – hydrogen sulfide, which was explored in 1968. The source has extremely healing properties.
Here, near the stable, you can arrange a place for temporary rest, taste and buy natural dairy products, which are part of the history of life and traditions of the Hutsul region. Rhodonite deposits can be seen on the Preluchnyi meadow. On the route between the meadows “Preluchnyi” and “Preluky” a lake with an area of 30 sq.m is located. Representatives of the Red Book of Ukraine, such as amphibians, Carpathian and alpine newts, live in the reservoir.
Moving further from the lake, we reach the mountain Vasylkova. The peak is the highest point on the route – 1540 m above sea level. It is from here a beautiful panorama of the Chyvchyn-Hryniav and Romanian mountains, the Montenegrin ridges opens. At the very top there is a metal cross erected by people in worship of God. Traveling through beautiful natural landscapes, you will reach the meadow “Glystovata”. And from there to the stow “Moskotyn” 47.81074, 24.89555. And to the end point of the route “Perkalaba”.
