Ecological and cognitive tourist route “Lostun splash dam”

  • Mokryn stow

    The route starts from Mokryn stow, Zelenska village council. The passage begins on the right bank of the Black Cheremosh River, which flows at an altitude of 970 m above sea level and is the most important tributary of the Prut River. 

  • Mokryn meadow

    Then along the route through the spruce forest you will reach the Mokryn meadow. And from there to the Kamyanets mountain meadow, 1600 m above sea level, which is a complex natural monument. Here near the sharp large stones one can often see an eagle.

  • Lostun meadow

    Next is the Lostun mountain meadow, which enchants with beautiful natural landscapes. Here you can arrange an observation point and see the mountain Chyvchyn (1769 m above sea level), which is the highest in the National Natural Park “Verkhovyna”. Continuing the journey, you go to the Ukrainian-Romanian border, where you can see the Romanian Carpathians.

  • Lostun stow

    From the border, turn left downhill in the direction of Lostun stow. Overcoming this distance of the road, approach the well with salt water, which has healing properties. When you reach the main road, continue along the Black Cheremosh River. It is here where you will see the partially preserved Lostun splash dam.

In the territory of the national park it is forbidden:

Deviation from the route.

Damage to natural objects.

Breeding hearths in places not designated for this purpose, smoking when passing through forests.

Felling and damage to trees plucking flowers, collecting medicinal plants.

Hunting for animals, destruction of their habitats.

Catching fish by any means.

Stay with firearms.

Territory littering, noise.
